Liying Xie

Liying Xie, contemporary Franco-Chinese artist, was born in 1984 in Shanghai, China. She has lived in France since 2007 and has set up in her workshop in the Fontainebleau region and in Vincennes. It has been selected in many renowned international salons and member of the Taylor Foundation.

In 2022, she obtained 'Congratulations from the jury' of the international prize 'Luxembourg Art Prize 2022'.

Her original style is very rich, from figurative to abstraction, from drawing, painting to raku ceramic sculptures, installation and audiovisual, she does not limit her artistic expressions.

Introduced from her childhood to the art of calligraphy and Chinese painting in the Academy of Painting and Calligraphy in Shanghai. She acquired Western painting techniques at the School of Fine Arts in Paris, notably in Michel Gouéry's drawing workshop in 2015. In 2021, she benefited from the advice of Ru Xiaofan, who greatly helped her. influenced in his creations. In 2024, she began learning contemporary engraving at the Contrepoint workshop in Paris.
Passionate about classical music and the piano, her works are marked by this imprint.
