Presentation
José Pirès paints, sculpts, engraves, cuts, draws silently or with music his own melody, his eulogy of the dream facing what takes it away from us. His creation sometimes search into myths and cult symbols. His oniric vision opens us intimate worlds, imagination mingling with memory a part of infinite. The artist explores the material and the bulks, the form and the color, searching for a grace.
Born in Nîmes, french and bresilian, José Pirès studied art in Rio de Janeiro before he came back to Nîmes Fine Art under the protection of Claude Viallat. His topics concern myts, signs, symbols and hints of the past. He often represents mythology and scenes where human gets along with sacralized animal, forming the marked weaving of his poetical/philosophical artwork, half between memory and oblivion.
