Simon Muriithi is an abstract figurative painter from Kenya, East Africa. Born in a small village on the slopes of the Arbedares range called Mioro, in the Muranga District, Simon was inspired to pursue art at an early age by both his parents and teachers. He has enjoyed national as well as international success as a painter with at least 21 exhibitions in the last five years.

Simon Muriithi is most frequently exhibited in Kenya, but also had exhibitions in Italy. Muriithi has at least no solo shows but 4 group shows over the last 13 years (for more information, see biography). A notable show was AfriCAM at Casoria International Contemporary Art Museum in Casoria in 2009. Another notable show was at One Off Contemporary Art Gallery in Nairobi. Simon Muriithi has been exhibited with Dennis Muraguri and Andrew Crae.

Mixed media paintings incorporating mostly rope, painted to blend in yet add a texture. The oils that Muriithi uses are layered thickly, and the rope gives that paintings an even more topographical feel.
