Lionnel Monnier
Biography
Coming from a family of amateur photographers, he became familiar with the development and enlargement processes in the family photo lab from an early age. In 2009, he turned to author photography, thus shaping his personal style.
Favoring graphic and refined compositions, his work, predominantly in black and white, is constructed through spontaneous and unexpected moments, favoring the capture of the present rather than elaborate staging. As an autodidact, his choices of themes and framing are purely inspired by his emotions and the energy that emerges from them.
Freed from any predefined thematic constraints, the subtlety of black and white guides its lens both towards photographic journeys and towards local scenes, thus offering a diversity of visual expressions.
His work, a true reflection of his unique journey, finds its place in the captivating world of contemporary art.
