Born in Milan, Béatrice Bizot has travelled the world to live and train in sculpture between the workshops of the Musée des arts décoratifs in Paris, the Midland centre for the arts in the United States and the Brera University of Fine Arts in Milan. He collaborated with the Czech artist Jiri Kolar, with whom he made an exhibition at the National Museum of Prague in 2012, and the American sculptor James Hopfensperger, during his stay in the United States between 1995 and 1998.
She has received several awards in the United States and Spain. And she has exhibited, among other countries, in the United States, Poland, Czech Republic, France and Spain. She is represented in Paris by the Insula gallery, her works are in private and public collections such as the Midland centre for the arts or the Museu d'Art Modern in Tarragona, where she has three sculptural ensembles in the public space in the Serrallo.
The themes of the city, the construction and the human being serve as a guiding thread in his work. Formally, it is affected by architectural elements in the human figure through bronze sculptures, but also appropriating materials such as cement.
Its purpose is to evoke the upheavals of the contemporary world while looking for a very particular aesthetic. The bodies are changed into structures, the faces carry windows and let the light through. The exterior becomes interior. Constructs a new architecture from human and architectural elements or objects that together form the alphabet of a new language.
