Lemon bowl blue still Life is a contemporary oil on canvas painting that immediately captivates the viewer with its bold use of color and geometric shapes.
At the center of the composition is a black and white bowl containing several bright yellow lemons, placed on a minimalist white table. The lemons, with their bright yellow, contrast beautifully with the turquoise blue background, providing an energetic and bright focal point.
In the background, a mosaic of colorful shapes in red, orange, blue and pink unfolds, creating a fascinating visual depth. Three stylized green leaves stand out on the left, adding a touch of nature and freshness to the whole, and balancing the composition.
In a conscientious abstraction, each element seems carefully placed to attract attention while contributing to the overall harmony of the painting. The work is an exaltation of simplicity and color.
Gordon Hopkins, born in 1965 in Boston (USA), is a contemporary painter steeped in his family's artistic heritage.
His parents, Edward Hopkins and Julie Hopkins, both visual artists, cultivated his passion for art from a young age. After studying Art and Art History at Principia College (Illinois, USA), Gordon specialized for 15 years as a landscape architect alongside Shep Butler. His passion for painting caught up with him, expressing itself as a vital need.
His transition to painting was natural, influenced by his previous expertise, he paints his canvases in the same way he would arrange a garden. Today, he is recognized as a master landscape painter, with a unique technique consisting of superimposing layers of dry oil color in sticks.
Don't delay in discovering the sparkling work of Gordon Hopkins, let his light illuminate your daily life by hanging one of his paintings in your home!

Gordon Hopkins was born in Boston (USA) in 1965 in a family of artists. His father, Edward Hopkins, painter and sculptor, is originally from Massachusetts (USA) and his mother, Julie Hopkins, a painter, was born in England. Gordon Hopkins studied Art and History of Art at Principia College (Illinois, USA).
Gordon Hopkins and his twin brother Mark grew up in a creative environment and the work of their parents offered them an early artistic education. The paintings, the relationship with the forms, initiation to colors along with the positive energy had a big role to play in their open-mindedness, curiosity and discovery, an aspect which Julie Hopkins hoped her children would possess.
While studying at the Principia College, he simultaneously collaborated with Shep Butler (Vermont) a landscape architect for designing gardens. This way, before becoming a painter, he first learned the profession of a landscape architect, and this makes him a landscape painter today.
He has the gift to design his paintings, just likes the gardens he designed. His technique (superimposition of dry oil paint with a stick) gives a peculiar texture and a unique depth to his canvases. His painting is dynamic and filled with joy. His creativity is based on a permanent observation of the environment.
Gordon Hopkins's work has been displayed during several collective and personal international exhibitions, like the Art Zurich International fair in Switzerland in 2010 or the Affordable Art fair in Amsterdam in 2010.
