Pep Ribé

Visual artist, Barcelona.

Trained at the School of Arts and Crafts in Barcelona, he alternated his artistic life as a visual artist with a profession as a graphic designer and textile designer.

He started out in the world of painting, making interesting hand-printed designs for important fashion companies, which later served as inspiration and were transferred to his works on canvas or paper. His first exhibition took place in 1995.

After several stages in the field of professional design, he now resumes his activity in pictorial art, offering the public a wide variety of very expressive works which are the fruit of his experience and creativity.

His work is very intense and with a clear abstract and minimalist tendency, the influences of his time in the textile and fashion sector are appreciated, which makes his paintings very decorative in any environment.

He has a great commitment to color and textures, his paintings are composed of several layers of colors and materials, thus achieving interesting effects that cause deep sensations in the viewer.

Observing and interpreting nature as it reveals itself to humanity. Using perspective, he gives his own vision of buildings and the urban landscape, he reinterprets objects by giving them a critical sense of society.

He represents people in a primary way and in attitudes that make us think.

Working with mixed media, her abstract paintings focus on textures and a spectrum of colors. His work is inspired

life events, personal, educational and historical experiences. His canvases are characterized by lines and organic shapes engraved on highly worked backgrounds. In his works there are always new details each time they are contemplated.
