Biography
Born in Paris in 1960, Marie-Pierre Autonne studied in a Montessori school. At the same time, she took drawing classes using the Martenot method and painting classes in a painter's studio on Rue du Dragon. It is in this same street that she studied graphic design at Met de Penninghen.
Independent by nature, for a long time she combined her job as a graphic designer with that of a travel guide. From the summits of the Himalayas to the Cape of Good Hope, many horizons shape her sensitivity to beauty, to the passage of time which is not the same for everyone, to the multiple colours and diversities of the world. Her work as a graphic designer refines her sense of colour and layout.
2009: departure for Montreal where she fully directs her life towards painting. Seduced by the birch wood of Quebec, she uses it as an anchor for her painting. She shares a workshop "L'œuf 425" with yCluca, a French painter and Stanley Février, a Haitian visual artist. This was a great period of sharing, projects and concert-exhibitions in this place. There she developed her two sensibilities: one abstract in a vertigo of colours and research of materials, the other more centred on the wild nature of Quebec. 2015: return to France, to Valence. Her gaze becomes closer, capturing the furtive moments of beauty of the Drôme that surrounds her. After several beautiful exhibitions in Valence (Hôtel de Flandresy/Valence - Orangerie de Montéléger - Jardin Médiéval d'Uzès...) and in Paris (104 kléber), she continues her journey and settles in 2020 on the banks of the Loire near Angers. Hypnotised by the majestic Loire and its tributaries (another passion: rowing), she shares with us this form of eternity, the reverse side of the water and its world of trees and clouds that glide by.
She paints for the pleasure of the eyes and the soul, and she believes that people can soak up energy and serenity by stopping to look at it for a while.
