Presentation

Artist Statement:

"Exacting Quality is never achieved by accident; it is always the result of Intelligent Efforts"

For more than 35 years, Rich Moyers has been successfully creating engaging artworks with thoughtful, energetic, and emotionally stimulating content using his natural affinity for proportional harmony and exceptional color balance. Rich's award winning Contemporary Paintings are held in many corporate and private collections.... (see below)

My primary desire is to establish a contemplative dialog beyond the two dimensional picture plane, encouraging a fluid discourse between a work's latent intent, and the viewers perceptions.

Subjects are realized through "pre-visualization" - a continuous distillation of ideas, reactions, perceptions and influences, to encapsulate emotional intensities using vivid coloration and proportional harmony.

This melding of physical and subconscious energies forms the "graphic shorthand" I use to coalesce my enigmatic creative impulses, ultimately revealing a refined experiential essence for each new work... so that Lines, Shapes, and Colors, can be felt as much as seen!

Methodology:

Most of Rich's paintings require many painstaking hours of carefully applied applications, working layer upon layer, in varying Mixed Media combinations, to accomplish his exceptional luminously vibrant effects, using Oil & Acrylic Paints, Pastels, Gouache, and Watercolors on Fine Handmade Papers, Linens, and Canvas.

Decades of experimental explorations allow Rich to skillfully manipulate the natural properties of “Fluid Viscosity". He uses these dynamic “push-pull" effects to enhance dimensional drama and heighten tactile surface qualities.

"During the execution of each new work, I often make impulsive additions, sparks of intuitive spontaneity, capturing the creative “magic" of each progressive discovery. Translating these compelling sensations of inspired tension is my primary goal."
