End to End Gallery is pulling back the curtain to reveal a collection of colorful Urban, Contemporary Art by leading Graffiti and Street artists: Martin Whatson, Snik, Jason Pulgarin, Shepard Fairey, Kaws, Paul Insect, Hebru Brantley & many more.
Martin Whatson
A continuous urge of finding beauty in the ugly seems to be Norwegian street artist Martin Whatson’s philosophy. He looks for inspiration in cities that often seem monotone, or in studying soon to be demolished buildings. Much like the man in his piece ‘Behind the Curtain’, Mr. Whatson is trying to pull back the grim-seeming urban facade to find the colour and cheer beneath the surface.
Snik
Internationally-acclaimed artists SNIK combine the creation of hand-cut, multilayered stencils with haunting, ethereal portraiture, born from a male/female dual perspective.
Jason Pulgarin
Jason Pulgarin is a thought-provoking and socially conscious street artist that creates vivid works saturated in social and cultural themes.
Shepard Fairey
One of the most influential street artists working today, Shepard Fairey has created political works across several mediums, including stickers, screenprints, and spray paint. Originating underground, his art has become prominent in both pop culture and the art world, embracing marketing and advertising strategies, as well as political and social activism.
Kaws
Continuing in the tradition of pop art, his influential work crosses painting, sculpture, and printmaking along with fashion, merchandise, and toy production while taking inspiration from art history and popular culture. In his paintings, KAWS deconstructs his appropriation of iconic characters into forms that draw on the tradition of abstract painting.
Paul Insect
Paul Insect is a UK contemporary artist. Best known for his collective named ‘insect’ that started in 1996 he is a collage, portrait master when it comes to portraying the relationship between the visible and the invisible. His images are provoking and impressive covering the vast ranges; going to the extremes of sensitivity to strictness going from life itself to death.
Hebru Brantley
Hebru Brantley creates narrative-driven work revolving around his conceptualized iconic characters which are utilized to address complex ideas around nostalgia, the mental psyche, power, and hope. The color palettes, pop-art motifs, and characters themselves create accessibility around Brantley’s layered and multifaceted beliefs. Majorly influenced by the South Side of Chicago’s Afro Cobra movement in the 1960s and 70s, Brantley uses the lineage of mural and graffiti work as a frame to explore his inquiries. Brantley applies a plethora of mediums from oil, acrylic, watercolor and spray paint to non-traditional mediums such as coffee and tea. Brantley’s work challenges the traditional view of the hero or protagonist and his work insists on a contemporary and distinct narrative that shapes and impacts the viewer’s gaze.
