Biography

"Art works in such a way that if painting only reflects the obvious, it is boring and ends up not being given any value... Today we are at a time when the story that painting tells us seems to matter to no one... you need to feel the spiritual side of painting, art only works when it excites, not everyone is moved by the same art! in front of a painting or sculpture should elevate us above the material".

In the work of Miquel Martorell Bonet, the specific constructive coherence does not show its intrinsic identity until it is completed by figuration, a concrete relief framework.

The idea of the piece, generally displaced to the sides, making the composition appear contrasted. The search of this artist between the limits of painting and sculpture is constant, making use of the most varied resources: classical figuration, symbolism, constructivist expressionism, expressed in a very personal way. It displays its capacity for aesthetic manifestation free from all guidelines.
