Artwork location: Italy
This artwork is a masterful composition that captures the quiet mundanity of a modest interior space. The scene is dominated by an old, green metal cabinet, slightly worn yet imbued with character, standing against a warm yellow wall. On top of this cabinet, a series of small objects, including jars and containers, are carefully positioned, each contributing to the story of everyday life. Adjacent to the cabinet, an old jacket is draped casually over the back of a wooden chair, hinting at the presence of a character who has momentarily stepped away. This garment adds a tangible sense of realism and lived-in warmth to the setting. The chair itself is rendered in rich browns, with subtle shadows suggesting a nuanced use of light that plays across the room. The composition of the artwork is intriguing, with a strong interplay between geometric forms and soft, muted color palettes. The floor tiles, drawn in shades of brown and muted orange, create a rhythmic pattern, guiding the viewer's eye through the space. The window above the cabinet introduces an element of light, casting soft shadows and adding depth to the piece. Particularly noteworthy is the artist's use of texture and brushwork. The varied textures of metal, fabric, and wood are depicted through skilled, almost tactile brushstrokes, making the painting feel almost touchable. Additionally, the color palette, predominantly of warm yellows, greens, and browns, evokes a sense of comfort and nostalgia. This painting excels in its balance of detail and simplicity, transforming an ordinary scene into a poignant visual narrative. Each element, from the subtle play of light to the attentive rendering of materials, collaborates to create a rich, inviting tableau that celebrates the beauty of everyday moments.

Presentation
Luigi Iona was born in 1990 in Aprilia (LT) and from twelve years he lived in Florence.
"I have always drawn since I was a child.
Around the age of eighteen, I began to approach painting (tempera, acrylic, oil).
After middle school I attended the Art Institute of Pomezia for five years, Advertising Graphics section. After finishing high school I decided to enroll at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome.
After about a year and a half, however, I decided to stop.
The reason that pushed me was the need to "detach myself" from the environment in which I was born and raised, eager to start again in a place that was unfamiliar to me.
I chose Florence because I have always been fascinated by its entire history of art.
In Florence, I did not continue my studies at the Academy, because I considered my drawing/painting skills well enough to be carried on by myself.
From that moment on I have never stopped making paintings, each time seeking more clarity and stability in the form/sign/color, in search of my poetics.
My style cannot exactly be attributed to an artistic movement, but certainly, my most relevant influences are expressionism, abstract expressionism, and contemporary figurative art.
At the moment I am rather focused on the everyday, trying to pictorially convey what we see and perceive every day in the form of internal poetry.
I try to make visible the intensity and harmony that lies in common everyday things and situations, for each of us.
Many times we take for granted a corner of the house, or a tree in the middle of the street, or a well-defined shadow on a wall that we see every day.
But even the smile of someone in our life can go unnoticed.
Here, my paintings are made to remember the beauty of things/people in everyday life, avoiding archiving what we practically have before our eyes every day.
By avoiding avoiding life."
