"Alex Claude carries out serial work on the landscape (always imaginary) between expressionism and serenity at the limits of abstraction. He is a French artist present in numerous private and public collections in Europe and beyond. He is regularly exhibited . "I create imaginary landscapes with acrylic paint on medium or canvas. The color range is deliberately reduced to black and gray, slightly brown or bluish tones. I look for silent and contemplative atmospheres where time is almost fixed. I don't have a realistic approach, but I compose a sort of balance around a central point which brings atmospheric depth in the "classical" sense of the term. My landscapes are often reduced to strong leading lines and assertive masses, bordering on abstraction. My painting is intended to be intelligible, but I introduce a second image as a filigree which doubles the reading..."

Presentation
French painter, lives and works in France.
Graduated from the School of Fine Arts in Paris with congratulations from the jury (1997).
"Alex Claude fully assumes the play of brushes and brushes, the effect of drips, the erasure of colors, the rubbing of the material and the consequences of the palimpsest. His mastery is revealed in his workshop: the execution of the first jets - organized without preparatory drawings - until the intense and methodical completion (...) Always singular framing, a horizon line generally placed quite high, plans defining distant perspectives, points of view in diving are all elements of composition that make the viewer lose the usual visual cues. And yet, nothing is illegible in these representations. "
