Glitz and glamour may seem transient, but when you're living in a Hollywood Regency interior it can be a 24/7 aesthetic.
Hollywood Regency, also known as Regency Moderne, is a design style that can be used to describe both interior design and landscape architecture styles. The style is characterized by its opulence and comfort; using bold blocks of color, contrast, metallic accents, black-and-white checkerboards, asymmetrical repetition, animal prints and varied luxurious textures. Named after the movie-making industry of southern California and its signature glamour in the homes, the style was popular among actors and actresses of Hollywood's “Golden Era". Although Hollywood Regency first made its first debut in the 1930s coming out of the Golden Age of Hollywood, the style remains popular today, particularly around southern California.
If you're thinking about giving your interior a Hollywood Regency revamp, remember: there's no such thing as too glam! With a tendency towards maximalism, the style features richly layered textures, high contrast patterns, metallic finishes, and vibrant colors. And Artsper has curated a selection of artworks that feature all of these elements to help you emulate Hollywood Regency within your own home.
