This fascinating artwork, done in black ink drawing, captivates with its level of detail and elegant monochrome. The artist has created a memorable scene that unfolds in two distinct parts: above the water and below the water. At the top, we see a pair of chimpanzees sitting in a rudimentary boat, intent on their perilous fishing enterprise. The fisherman appears unperturbed, his fishing rod dipped into the water, creating a visual and narrative link between the two worlds. The apparent simplicity of the surface scene is contrasted by the richness of the underwater world. Below, the drawing delves into an underwater view of great complexity. It reveals an abundance of aquatic life, with fish, plants, and corals detailed with remarkable finesse. Every element beneath the surface is drawn with precision, evoking the texture of fish scales and the delicacy of swaying algae. The artist skillfully uses variations of line and hatching to create textures and shadows, giving depth to the image. The fishing rod traverses this duality, visually and thematically connecting the two parts of the work to land on a shoe stuck under a branch at the bottom of the water.
The emptiness of the duo's perseverance, as well as a subtle denunciation of the pollution of the seabed, make this work humorous but also committed.

A bestiary of today Sacred zoo, that of Guillaume Piot who transforms politicians, faceless but recognizable, into kings of a jungle that could well represent the French! A sharp-looking draftsman, Guillaume Piot did not choose zoomorphy to portray these animals that are politicians: don't we compare them to elephants when they advance in a monolithic herd, to old foxes when cunning competes with cynicism or even with monkeys when they make fun of the world? And finally, aren't we the spectators of a sort of cattle fair when it comes to choosing the one with the best teeth to bite into France or the most beautiful panache to seduce her? A past master in animal iconography, Guillaume Piot revisits the bestiaries of yesteryear in his own way. His pencil is delicate but often biting like those pitbulls and gorillas who crowd around Marine Le Pen. And what about these vultures who frame François Fillon while the geese sound the alarm against the attackers? Surrounded by a composite courtyard, bears, giraffes, camels, Emmanuel Macron clenches his fists while Jean-Luc Mélenchon reenacts freedom guiding the people in the midst of goats and sheep. Arnaud Montebourg, him, tries to compete with a peacock making the wheel ... as for François Hollande, alone in his palace, he tries to make himself a rhinoceros leather ... and all the others are to be discovered, smile on the lips, thought in mind. These politicians have no face, but they have a name thanks to these "nice animals" who surround them to offer them a little of their mind. Can I negotiate the price of an artwork?
For some artworks, you can negotiate the price. If the price of the work is negotiable, you have a “Make an offer” button under the “Buy this work” one.
To submit your offer, you must make a payment of the desired amount. Your offer will then be forwarded to the gallery, which reserves the right to accept or reject it. If your offer is accepted, it means that your order is confirmed by the gallery and they will prepare the artwork for shipment. If your offer is rejected, you will be refunded the total amount paid automatically. The gallery can also propose a counter-offer for the acquisition of the artwork.

Where can I have my order delivered?
Artsper delivers worldwide!
However, please note that once your order reaches its destination, it may be subject to VAT or other customs fees. These charges are beyond our control and you will be responsible for paying them (this is indicated at the ‘checkout’ first step).
Select the delivery address of your choice. Please make sure that someone is present to receive your order.
If your billing address is different to your delivery address you can specify this at the checkout.
Return and cancellation
You can return the artwork without needing to provide a reason or pay a penalty fee up to 14 days after receiving your order.
In the case that the right of withdrawal is exercised in the aforementioned time frame, the price of the artwork(s) purchased and the shipping costs will be reimbursed by us as soon as the gallery has received the artwork and notified us.
Artsper will manage the return of the work and will bear the cost of returns (which will either be paid by you and refunded by Artsper or directly paid by Artsper).
The artwork must be returned in perfect condition and in its original packaging (or equivalent).
