The work of Barbara Hubert is full of reverie, affirmation and exploration of the beauty of nature and searches related to the relationship of color, light and space in the landscape.
The painter often balances on the border of figurative painting and abstraction, presents landscapes and real or surreal views, filled with light contrasts, saturated colors, scaled celestial bodies, thick fog. Thus, it gives the landscape not only an emotional, expressive character, but also a universal meaning, detached from specific places, which encourages the viewer to contemplate.
By confronting human figures, small and almost defenseless against the boundless and stunning nature and beauty, Barbara Hubert opens up again the discourse about the sublimity, the power of nature and the importance it plays in the contemporary world and art.
