Introducing Urban Icon, a groundbreaking sculpture that merges the playful, collectible appeal of Kidrobot figures with the raw, expressive power of Basquiat's art. This striking piece stands at 60x40x30 cm, making it an eye-catching centerpiece that brings the edgy vibrancy of street culture into any space.
Urban Icon is more than just a sculpture; it's a celebration of the intersection between art, fashion, and urban culture. This piece captures the essence of Basquiat's distinctive style—his dynamic use of color, text, and abstract forms—while incorporating the iconic Kidrobot shape that has become synonymous with modern collectible art.
Masterful Craftsmanship
Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, Urban Icon is a testament to the skill and vision of its creator. The sculpture's form takes inspiration from the Kidrobot shape, known for its round head and smooth, minimalist design. This familiar silhouette is the perfect canvas for a vibrant, chaotic explosion of Basquiat-inspired imagery.
Every inch of this sculpture is adorned with elements that pay homage to Basquiat's work: bold, gestural brushstrokes, cryptic symbols, and provocative text that provoke thought and spark curiosity. The fusion of these elements with the clean lines of the Kidrobot shape creates a powerful contrast that is both visually arresting and deeply symbolic.
A Tribute to Two Icons of Urban Culture
Urban Icon is not just a decorative piece; it is a tribute to two giants of urban culture—Kidrobot, a brand that revolutionized the world of designer toys, and Jean-Michel Basquiat, a pioneering artist who brought the energy of the streets to the galleries of the art world. This sculpture captures the spirit of rebellion, creativity, and innovation that both Kidrobot and Basquiat represent.
The vibrant colors and raw, unfiltered energy of Basquiat's art are perfectly complemented by the sleek, modern form of the Kidrobot figure. Together, they create a piece that speaks to the heart of urban culture, making Urban Icon a must-have for collectors and enthusiasts who appreciate the fusion of art and street culture.
Versatile Decor for Modern Spaces
With its bold design and dynamic presence, Urban Icon is the perfect addition to a wide range of modern spaces. Whether you're looking to enhance a contemporary living room, add a touch of edge to an office, or create a statement piece in a gallery, this sculpture fits seamlessly into any environment.
The 60x40x30 cm size is ideal for display on a pedestal, shelf, or tabletop, allowing you to showcase Urban Icon in a way that best suits your space. Its vibrant colors and intricate details draw the eye, making it a focal point that invites conversation and admiration.
Urban Icon is not just a piece of art; it's a reflection of the energy and creativity of urban life, bringing the spirit of the streets into your home or workspace.

Dervis Akdemir, born in 1997, is a British sculptor specializing in pop art and minimalistic designs. He graduated from King's College London and he earned The Architectural Imagination certificate from Harvard University. Akdemir gained recognition when one of his artworks was featured in a recent season of Love Island, subsequently showcased in Hello Magazine. In a remarkably brief period, his sculptures garnered acclaim, earning distinctions such as Best of May on Artfinder, Beulah's Portrait Picks, and recognition in Minimalist Interior design picks by editors.
Akdemir draws inspiration from Greek Mythology and historical events that have shaped contemporary society. Each of his designs skillfully combine contrasting elements, challenging the concept of impossibility. Working with natural materials like clay and plaster, he employs ancient methods to craft each sculpture. Influenced by notable artists such as Banksy and Andy Warhol, Akdemir infuses modern elements into simple sculptures. His works have graced exhibitions at the Parallax Art Fair and the British Library, notably during the Alexander the Great exhibition, showcasing his commitment to both historical and contemporary artistic influences.
