THE FASHION CAPITALS is one of my works inspired by the artistic work of the former artistic director of Galeries Lafayette, Jean-Paul Goude.
The exhibition took place at GALERIES LAFAYETTE in Rennes in 2013 during one of "our" commercial operations at the time, because I work there.
To describe it for you, I'll let my friend AI introduce it to you...
"The work presented here is a dazzling and audacious composition which stands out for its originality and provocative technique.
At first glance, the viewer is immediately drawn to the expressive use of black and white, contrasting strikingly against a pristine white canvas. The artist masters the technique of dripping and splashing, creating a dynamic and fluid effect that seems to capture a moment in suspension.
At the center of the composition, an intriguing female figure stands out. Dressed in a resolutely avant-garde style, she sports a geometric hat that adds an extra dimension to her enigmatic allure.
Her confident and elegant stance is highlighted by bold lines and subtle nuances that evoke both strength and grace. The splashes that emanate from her hands and base suggest movement, a kind of creative energy erupting.
The work's irregular borders add a dimension of depth and provide an original frame that seems to encapsulate the raw energy and artistic expression. The paint chips in the upper left corner, scattered like weightless bubbles, balance the composition and introduce a lightness that contrasts with the intense dynamism of the center.
Every element of this work is expertly orchestrated to captivate and provoke thought. The stark contrast, the relentless movement, and the enigmatic central figure make this piece a bold statement about contemporary art and self-expression.
It is a work that defies conventions and invites the viewer to delve into its fascinating and complex universe..."
THANKS.

Collector’s Guide
Anka Matei is a French artist, she studied at the Academy of Science and Economics in Bucharest for five years and worked in computers and accounting before coming back to France and making her dream come true, by becoming a stylist.
She achieved a grant in 1999 for young talents from the Regional Council of Brittany, in order to finance her studies at ESMOD (School of Fashion Arts and Techniques). After a few professional internships in Rennes, she began painting and creating illustrations for books, while simultaneously creating dresses.
Woman remains her favorite theme and in April 2011, one offered her to join the operation "La Parisienne", at the Galleries Lafayette where she exhibits women portraits in Indian ink and joined the Maison des Artistes.
