Biography

Photograph time lapse

Christophe Audebert was trained in photography at the Spéos - Paris Photographic Institute.

His photographic work mainly deals with natural and urban landscapes with main themes, time and movement. It seeks to show a form of reality invisible to us.

The Faroe Islands: magical and incredible landscapes.
Autonomous Region of Denmark, this region is an archipelago of 18 islands, located in the North Atlantic between Scotland, Norway and Iceland. Of magmatic origin they present a spectacular and wild geography with fjords, vertiginous cliffs, waterfalls and mountains culminating at 880 meters. The breath of the Atlantic is omnipresent and the lights extraordinary. Still unknown, these islands offer a guaranteed change of scenery and have been ranked among the most beautiful wild destinations in the world. Constantly changing, lights and landscapes are a magical hunting ground for photographers.

To transcend these already "dramatic" and hostile atmospheres, Christophe Audebert often uses the technique of long exposure, that is to say, shots that can last for several minutes: the clouds, the sea and the falls, water and rock in a textured or ethereal universe. Equipped with his tripod and a winter outfit, he braves the weather in the rain, wind and sometimes snow and cruises the islands in search of the best angles and lights of exception. According to the subjects, he applies a black and white treatment to reflect the harshness of this archipelago and reinforce the timeless side of the images.

This photographic work is part of the "Liquid time" series, a series that has won many awards in France and abroad. Christophe Audebert, professional photographer, is the author of the book "The secrets of long exposure" published by Editions Eyrolles.
