Biography
Born in 1986 in Bamako (Mali). Ibrahim Ballo graduated in Plastic Arts from the National Institute of Arts in Mali (2012) and holds a Master in Plastic Arts Conservatory of Arts and Multimedia Trades Balla Fasseke Kouyaté from Mali (2017).
He is the winner of the Sahm workshops award in visual arts - painting. - on the occasion of the 6th edition of the International Meeting of Contemporary Art (RIAC) Congo-Brazzaville - Direction: Dakin Dagara, art historian ( 2017).
Ibrahim Ballo still lives and works in Bamako. He grew up in an environment of weavers. His singular work by which cotton thread becomes one of the raw materials of his creations, affirms a strong link with the cotton history of his country. His characters seem to be suspended in an uncertain time today where life hangs by a thread, in Mali as elsewhere.
