Biography
Visual artist born in 1965, Christophe Stouvenel "Kiki" takes his influences of expression and technique in the culture of the 80s.
It is with her childhood nickname that "Kiki" already signed her first drawings ...
While studying visual arts, at the bend of a street, he came face to face with a 4x3m painting of “Kiki Picasso”, simply pasted on an urban panel. Unable to resist, this work which represented Santa Claus, will be torn off the following night and will serve for a long time as a backdrop in his student room.
For Christophe Stouvenel, being artistically speaking "Kiki" then becomes obvious. This is how he explains his attachment to his nickname: there is a Picasso, a Kiki Picasso ... now there will be a Kiki.
“Kiki” has a predilection for the use of supports and mediums from urban art: he mixes the work of the stencil, the staging and the collage of torn posters, the diversion of words like an advertising slogan. So many techniques and approaches which are not only a reflection of the cultural and artistic influence of his adolescent era, but also that of his sensitivity and his interpretation of the world today.
