Jack Moore

Artist Statement:

Painting has given my life purpose. It makes me feel whole.

Within my work, I create surreal landscapes and characters. I'm influenced heavily by my dreams at night which I remember in vivid detail. My paintings express the range of human experience, most often in an urban community. Living in New York City, I witness joy and sadness everyday. 

Employing traditional and learned color theory, I choose my colors with great care, using them to convey specific emotions. These selected colors, mixed with time-honored compositional traits, combine to create my paintings.

When I share my work with others, they become the catalyst for conversation. Through this dialogue I'm able to meet new people and make the world a little bit smaller. In producing future works, I hope to expand my network and create new opportunities for myself and other artists as well.
