Originally from Bordeaux, ARDPG began with raw graffiti and lettering that he had fun doing in the Bordeaux wasteland at the end of the 90s. Subsequently, his studies in the history of art took place. pushed to develop creations more respectful of his elders and his passions for architecture and words. Working for 15 years in Paris he knew how to soak up this artistic and cultural energy in order to make them reflect in his universe. His studio work will then marry his knowledge of art history as well as his urban universe to give birth to series of works that will give a guideline and identifiable to his work. Today he presents “fragments” as he likes to call them. These are pieces of painted and engraved wood that he assembles in order to create a sort of piece of art history. A piece of something much more imposing… By opposing two artistic periods on pieces of works it allows to identify while leaving a beautiful part to the imagination. For his work on words, he does a bit of the same thing. He wants the viewer to take the time to look at the work to read it and discover its hidden meanings. So in our society where everything is based on speed and instantaneousness, ARPDG wants us to take the time to see, analyze and understand the work.
