This series was born in 2016, and unfolds as the interpretation of a mental photograph of a summer memory, of its sunny and warm atmosphere, of this suspended feeling linked to vacation time which remains in memory.
It also evokes a love for blue and its infinite hues: sea, ocean, sky, lake, rivers, our planet. Luc Besson paid homage in 1988 to this great blue, around the love of two divers for the sea. In this painting as in the film, it is also metaphorically a question of representing the infinity of the ocean, symbol of freedom, wide open spaces and escape. All these nuances transmit a very wide range of emotions: tranquility, depth, melancholy, exaltation. From dark tones to lighter tones, each has its own meaning.
Fascinated by this color, its nuances and its reflections, this series expresses the interpretation that Thomas Jeunet offers. Where certain great masters of painting had their favorite blue, Thomas Jeunet explores all the shades of blue, to experience all their richness and vibrations.
