GALERIE OPENSPACE
From October 21, 2017 to November 18, 2017
After graduating from the Beaux-Arts in Poznan in 2012, Robert Proch has been painting in public spaces for ten years. Stemming from graffiti, his urban work quickly turned towards the painting of building facades in Poland and around the world at the invitation of numerous public art festivals. In parallel, the young artist of twenty-seven years draws and produces animated films, and develops a workshop work in the form of painting on canvas and on paper.
On a wall several stories high, on a canvas or on a screen, Robert Proch's works represent scenes from everyday life, and thus offer a fully universal dimension. The artist also portrays a wide range of feelings such as pride, greed, ambition and fear. He admits thus using his works as an outlet and painting his most shameful thoughts and emotions. But it is his plastic treatment, in a restricted chromatic range, between abstraction and figuration, that sets Robert Proch apart from his peers. This juxtaposition of two a priori incompatible approaches allows the viewer to immerse himself in a narrative dimension, all in spatial depth, allowing the mind to travel and wander through its glacis. Robert Proch is represented by contemporary art galleries in France, Great Britain, Germany and Denmark.
