Born in 1971 near Barcelona, Marc Prat is a painter and engraver. He began to paint at the age of 24, and made his first public and personal exhibition six years later, in 2001. In addition to being a painter, he is a musician; he plays double bass and guitar, but he has also worked as a photographer, journalist and teacher throughout his career. His mother, Rosa Codina-Estève, influenced him enormously in his life as in painting. The latter, professor of Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona, taught him the basis of the history of art and artistic practices. Thus, the artistic universe of Marc Prat undeniably derives from his mother, the two evolving in parallel. Another constant source of inspiration for Marc Prat: the landscapes projected in his mind, physical or imaginary, which he always tries to transcribe in his paintings. Marc Prat himself defines his painting as a hybrid mixture of figurative and abstract, with a direct and constant reference to architecture and symbolism. The artist exhibits in many international art galleries and participates in contemporary art fairs including the AAF in Brussels in 2016.
