Biographie
Né au Japon en 1940 et diplômé de l'Art Center College of Design en Californie, Michael K. Yamaoka a perfectionné son œil en tant que photographe publicitaire et éditorial primé au Fortune 500. Voyageant dans le monde entier, il recherche la majesté et la beauté dans la nature et les créations humaines, incorporant souvent une figure de déesse dans une interprétation moderne de la mythologie. Outre des expositions en Allemagne, au Japon, aux États-Unis et en Grande-Bretagne, il a été honoré en 2017 d'une exposition personnelle aux Nations Unies à New York. Son travail fait partie de collections corporatives et privées du monde entier, y compris la collection personnelle de I.M. Pei. Il est actuellement membre du prestigieux Salmagundi Club de New York, où il a reçu de nombreux prix de photographie.
