From June 8 to July 28, 2017, Galerie Guillaume is extending the exhibition devoted to François-Xavier de Boissoudy with the hanging of a remarkable collection of works by Georges Rouault (1871-1958). Through this exhibition, Guillaume Sébastien wants to bring together one of the most important religious painters of the 20th century and a contemporary artist engaged in sacred art. Rouault, like Boissoudy, express their faith in their respective works in a very embodied way and, at the same time, in different styles. The exhibition will notably allow us to consider the place of religious and sacred art in modern and contemporary art, and to recall the singular and exceptional career of Georges Rouault.
