Hypnotic water surface. Depth of a blood-red circle, smooth and viscous.
A disorder caused by the falling drop whose waves gradually give way to ephemeral bubbles.
Instant frozen. Our gaze is caught, captivated by this illusion that plunges us into the heart of an unreal world. Have we been miniaturized before being projected in the middle of blood drop, or is it only an echo of the blood flowing in our veins?
We are losing ground. Reality is crumbling.
Suddenly the liquid changes color. Almost motionless blue, serene, we are once again sprinkled with gray before drowning, incredulous and lost, in a broth of greens, yellows, and sienna. The world liquefies around us and our senses are free.
Loss of bearings. Inversion of gravity. The internal and external merge, the flat surface becomes hollow, the wall becomes a vortex.
Our body exists only as a ball of sensations.
Oscillations.
Attractions.
Exaltations.
For his new exhibition, Philippe Huart, a champion of “objective reality”, fascinates as always. His plastic impulse of disconcerting hyperrealism comes here to form astonishing compositions that flirt with abstraction as if to better blur our perception. Colors and materials become predominant, tangible, almost palpable.
They insinuate themselves under our eyes, under our fingers, but also in our nose, our mouth, or our ears. Oscillating and vibrating, they invade us and destabilize us to the point of absolute vertigo.
