Kyoko Sugiura, embroiderer, member of the Ateliers d'Art de France, lives and works in Paris. Techniques and materials are important witnesses that tell stories and cultures. Kyoko uses both traditional Kyoto silk threads, creative Japanese fancy threads, old European pearls and sequins, lace, leather, metals and even walnut shells: the diversity of materials used enriches her universe. . Strengthened by her multiple experiences between France and Japan, the artist creates works at the crossroads of the two cultures, and gives birth to new forms of expression.
