"If we had to describe the works of Stratos in two words, it would surely be "happiness" and "love". Indeed, Charles Stratos is a lover of life and he says it himself: "Through my characters, I seeks to paint happiness". Of Greek origin through his grandfather who was also a stonemason, he rubbed shoulders with the artistic world from the age of 14 in an architectural firm. He will begin his artistic career in painting where he will use bright colors such as red, blue and yellow. Looking for difficulty, he will start sculpting in stainless steel and bronze. He chooses to make monumental works, because they allow him to be exhibited outdoors and especially in cities where he can show his world to all passers-by. Unlike his colorful paintings, his sculptures are only gray. The artist explains his choice of monochrome stainless steel due to the properties of the material not to rust and therefore to last over time. Stainless steel is also resistant to rain, which allows him to exhibit his works outdoors.
