Biography
Gérard Titus-Carmel was born in Paris on 10 October 1942, is a painter, printmaker, French poet and essayist. He illustrated many works of poets and writers, and he himself ever published thirty books, essays on art and poetry.
Gérard Titus-Carmel lives and works in Oulchy-le-Château, in the Aisne. Studied at the École Boulle in Paris from 1958 to 1962. First solo exhibition in 1964.
Painter, draftsman and engraver, he has participated in more than four hundred fifty exhibitions. Nearly two hundred solo exhibitions have been devoted to the world, where his work is represented in a hundred museums and public collections. He has made monumental works for the Ministry of Finance in Paris, the DRAC Champagne-Ardenne in Chalons-en-Champagne and the Palais des Congrès in Nantes.
